Miriam Spies, 57, Glens Falls NY, passed away February 29, 2016 in Albany, NY.
Born, May 4, 1958 in Alexandria Bay NY to Lyle and Betty Spies. She graduated from Alexandria Central School in 1976 and then from SUNY Plattsburgh. Miriam was a language teacher for several years in the Glens Falls area and worked for Tribune Media for 27 years.
Miriam was fluent in French and loved to read and sing to her nieces and nephews in French to teach them the language. She had a love for life, family and friends that could only be matched to her love of cooking. She enjoyed seeing her family and friends when able to travel home to Redwood NY.
She is survived by her mother Betty Spies, Bradenton FL, her partner of many years Kim Goldsmith, Glens Falls NY, Grandmother Helen Bartlett, Redwood NY, siblings William and Amy Spies, Cincinnati OH, Helen and George Lamson, Tully NY, Sharon and Scott McDougall, Statesville NC, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Lyle Spies.
Services will be held in Redwood at a later date.
