Monique Waller-Nesbitt Muhammad of Schenectady NY departed this life on January 18, 2022.
Monique was born on October 31, 1959 in the Bronx, NY. She was the daughter of Ronald Waller, Sr. and to the late Delores Waller-Worrell.
Monique was raised in the South Bronx and graduated from Walton High School in 1977, where she received a full academic scholarship to Siena College where she graduated with a bachelor of science in 1981. After college she dedicated over 30 years working for Empire Blue Cross & Blue Shield. Monique was also a woman of the people. Wherever she went, she was remembered. In 1997, she joined the Nation of Islam Dedicating her life, to working within the community. She was a Registered Believer and member of Muhammad's Mosque of Albany NY Study group. She was very active in the community and was always of service. Monique was also known as "Mo" "Mother Mo" or "Sister Monique". "Mo" loved to travel whether she was in Chicago for Saviors Day, Aruba laying by the beach or in NYC riding the circle line. She lived everyday like it was her last.
Monique is survived by her children, Anthony Stephon Nesbitt, LaShaunna Rosa and Brittney Hay. She is also survived by her siblings, Debra Reed, Rhonda Waller-Reid, Yvette Wood and Ronald Waller. She leaves behind a host of friends, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, New York on Friday January 28, 2022 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm with a funeral service at 12:00 pm. Burial will follow the service at Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12209.
Monique's legacy will live on through her family and she will be remembered forever.
