Mother Florence Chaney

SELKIRK- Mother Florence E. Chaney, age 86, passed away on August 18, 2021 at Albany Medical Center after a brief battle with COVID.

She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of the late Camille and Ann Marie Carrillo. She was predeceased by her two siblings.

Mother Florence Chaney is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Joseph Chaney Jr.; five children: Kenneth Sager (Ella), TN, Keith Sager, TN, Sherri Jennett (John), Mohawk, NY, David Dietz, Schenectady and Daniel Dietz, Schenectady; five step children: Edward Chaney, Jacksonville, FL, Harold Chaney, Albany, Alice Chaney Fields (Anthony), Albany, Bobby Chaney, Danville, VA, and Charles Chaney, Schenectady. Also survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Mother Florence Chaney was educated in the public school system in Brooklyn, NY. Her passion was taking care of people. She worked at Eden Park Nursing Home for 16 years prior to retiring.

Mother Florence was a giver. If anyone was ever in need, she was always there.

Mother Florence Chaney was member of the Greater St. John's COGIC Church, where she was a faithful member for many years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hour on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 10 to 11 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205. A service will follow at 11 a.m.
