Muriel E. Lockyer

Rotterdam - Muriel Elizabeth Shaver Lockyer, 73, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at St. Clare's Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Sloatsburg, NY she was the daughter of the late Maude Conklin and Meriam S. Shaver. Mrs. Lockyer graduated from Suffern High School in 1952. She worked for the Avon Corp. in the 1950's, she was a member of the Ramapo Valley Ambulance Corps in the 1960's and at the time of death was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 762 in Altamont. Muriel was a member of the Heldeberg Reformed Church in Guilderland Center.
Married on July 10, 1954, Muriel leaves behind her beloved husband of 53 years, William B. Lockyer of Rotterdam. She also leaves behind her son Dennis G. Lockyer of Pittsfield, MA and three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 19, at 1:00 PM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 11:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
