SCHENECTADY- Murray Berman, 90, passed away at Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, on Tuesday, February 24, 2015.
Murray was born on May 21, 1924, in Manhattan, NY where he lived the majority of his life. In NYC Murray worked as an investigator of nursing homes for the city of New York. He also worked as a mobility instructor for The Lighthouse Institution for the Blind, of which his late first wife, Sara, was a member.
Murray is survived by his loving wife and companion of 24 years, Esta, a host of friends, and his two cats Cookie, and Chooch.
Murray will be remembered for his love of poetry, which he also wrote, and his love of chamber music, both classical and jazz. He was also interested in philosophy, psychology, science, and art.
Services will be held privately by the family.
Donations may be made in Murray's name to WAMC fm, and WMHT fm.
