Nadine M. Rockenstire

COLONIE – Nadine M. Rockenstire, 80, Colonie, passed away on Tuesday November 2, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Albany and was the daughter of the late Harold and Margaret O'Neil Gabel.
Nadine was a keyboard specialist with New York State Higher Education for over twenty years. At the age of 70, she earned her high school diploma and was proud to volunteer as an English teaching assistant with foreign nationals. Nadine enjoyed crocheting, visiting racino and learning on her computer. With two of her grandchildren serving overseas, she was proud to bake cookies for our troops who enjoyed and appreciated her thoughtfulness.
Nadine is the beloved mother of Cheryl Rockenstire and Robert (Martha) Rockenstire. She is the dear sister of Margaret Fink and the cherished grandmother of Alyssa Mock, Krista Rockenstire and Robert C. Rockenstire III. She is also survived by two great grandchildren. Nadine will be dearly missed by her canine companions, Tyler and Jody.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 1:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11:00 to 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 440 New Karner Rd. Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Nadine Rockenstire.
