Nancy Ann (Russett) Casey

Colonie- Nancy A. (Russett) Casey, 67, passed away at home surrounded by love and devotion, on Monday, October 2, 2006. Born in Cohoes on March 15, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor and Norman Russett. Nancy was a graduate of Vincentian Institute. She was a longtime employee of St. Ann's Institute in Albany, recently receiving recognition for 20 years of service. Nancy is predeceased by her sister Mary Ann Carafano.
Nancy was the beloved mother of Sharon L. (Dennis) Smith and William R. Hernandez. She also leaves behind he three beautiful grandsons, Jeffrey, Ryan and Timmy Smith. She is survived by her sister Gloria (Arthur) LeBarron, her brother Ronald (Janet) Russett, her sister Elizabeth (James) Carafano, her brother Thomas (Carolyn) Russett and her sister Catherine Russett, and many nieces and nephews who also loved their aunt Nancy.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the family of Joan Michela, Nancy's recently deceased best friend, for their love and encouragement to Nancy throughout their own difficult time. Especially to Judi VanVorse who was a constant support and friend to Nancy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, in memory of Nancy A. Casey.
