ALBANY – Nancy Grace Cameron, 75, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Ruth (Cunningham) Althiser.
Nancy graduated from Albany High School in 1955. She was a devoted nurse in the delivery and neonatal units at Albany Medical Center and Flushing Hospital in Queens, NY. Her hobbies included cooking for family occasions and large church groups. She enjoyed traveling, especially on international cruises during her retirement. Nancy enjoyed winters in Garden City, SC and summers in Albany.
Along with her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her daughter, Teresa Margaret Arnold and brother, Frederick E. Althiser.
She was the beloved wife of Rev. William M. Cameron, Jr., for 42 years. Her greatest joy in life was her five children, Kathleen (Charles) Koenig of Monroe, NC, Nancy (Al Plaza) Arnold of Hannacroix, NY, Kimberly (Mark)Reynolds of Coeymans Hollow, NY, Michael (Doreen) Cameron of Rego Park, NY and Heather (Neil) DiScala of Little Neck, NY. She was "Grammy" to Erin, Shane, Kyle, Tyler and Dakota Koenig, Jesse Arnold, Jared Reynolds, Brandon Cameron and Nicholas and Paul DiScala.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 pm at the First Church in Albany, 110 North Pearl Street, Albany, where she was a lifelong member. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family in Memory Gardens, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to the church's Community Ministries Fund in Nancy's name.
