Nancy J. Saccocio

COLONIE, NY – Nancy J. Saccocio, 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2008 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Vito and Catherine DeFillipps. Nancy lived in Colonie for most of her life. She was a seamstress at Gloversville Knitting and Ursula of Switzerland. More recently, she worked in the bakery at Price Chopper, retiring at the age of 72. Nancy was a communicant of St. Clare's Church. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Senior Citizens and enjoyed traveling with them. Nancy especially loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Nancy is the beloved mother of Louis (Dolores) Saccocio and Kathleen Moro. She is the devoted grandmother of Louis Scott (Christine) Saccocio, Severin (Kenn Tavernia) Moro, Michael (Cheryl) Saccocio and Christopher (Stephanie) Saccocio. She is the cherished great-grandmother of Anthony, Vincent, Joseph, Nicholas, Michael and Mikayla. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Guy Fraumeni. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday at 8:15 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in memory of Nancy J. Saccocio
