Nancy J. Kirby RN (nee Schwarz)
Nancy was born on March 28, 1947 to the late Clement and Dolores Schwarz in Chicago, IL.
She passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 with her loving husband Jim holding her hand while reading to her.
Nancy battled MS and diabetes for many years; she survived lung cancer and breast cancer. But her frail body was just worn out.
Nancy greatly enjoyed her career as a Registered Nurse. She graduated HVCC in 1993 and worked in Albany Medical Center. Nancy eventually retired, due to illness, from Churchill (Manitoba) Regional Health Authority as Nursing Supervisor.
Nancy was an enthusiastic traveler. She liked nothing better than to travel throughout North America, cruising by boat (rivers and Great Lakes), by train (wherever it may take her), and by tour bus.
Nancy is survived by her husband of almost 43 years, James; her sisters in law Virginia Kirby and Nora (David) Harrington; and her niece Sarah Kirby.
Nancy will be greatly missed and loved forever.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 from 10:00 am -12:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie NY 12205. Interment to follow at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY 12871.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Avenue, Glenville, NY 12302.
