TROY – Nancy L. Flynn, 58, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2011 surrounded by her loving family after a long illness. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of Edward and Ruth LaBelle.
Nancy was a great mom and adored her two sons. She loved her dog, Molly. Nancy won multiple publishers' awards while working with the Times Union. In her free time, she enjoyed taking road trips to Tannersville for shopping, cruising, and traveling. Nancy was an avid Yankee fan who was known to text game updates to her family.
Nancy was predeceased by her husband of four years, Larry "Flynnie" Flynn in 1980.
She is survived by her two sons, Larry (Lynnette) Flynn, Jr. and Brian Flynn of Schenectady; granddaughter Hayden Riley Flynn; brothers Edward (Enid) LaBelle of Colonie, and Gary (Michelle Wright) LaBelle of Malta; sisters Ruth (Jack) Marro of Latham, and Laurie (Joseph) Chartrane of Saratoga; grandmother Frances LaBelle of Saratoga; sister-in-law Alice Flynn of Troy, and family friends Ryan Mochrie of Troy and Tammy Greene of Cohoes. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1234, Troy, NY 12180 in Nancy's name.
