Nancy Winslow

April 1, 1947 — June 18, 2014

COLONIE-Nancy (Nance) Veronica Winslow born in Albany NY, April 1st, 1947 and passed away suddenly on June 18th, 2014. Nancy was the oldest child of the "Original Brady Bunch" as her sisters and brother were brought together after 2 tragic and sudden deaths on the same day of her Birth Mother (Dorothy) and her new Siblings Birth Father (William). The families had lived in the same area of Albany and were part of some of same community activities, include Girl Scouts. Harry Bradt and Mary West soon met after this tragic accident and where married a year later, thus creating a new family for Nancy and Candy Bradt and Diana, Phyllis and Bill West. This bond of family created a strength and compassion that carries thru the extended family to this day, as the words Step has never been part of our family's history. Each sibling carries traits of all of their parents, including Independence, Stubbornness and Selflessness, which Nancy was a primary example of all 3. The family grew up on North Gate Drive, in the Hamlet of Westmere (Guilderland). She graduated from Guilderland High School in 1965.

Nancy was a lifetime giver, both professionally as a waitress and a family member. Her selflessness is something that all humans should strive to emulate and could never be measured. She always made sure that birthday card's showed up on time, that "care packages" hit just when you needed it most or was a willing participant in any and all "crisis'" that were going on to try to help. You can say that her one great passion was giving. Her son, granddaughter, nieces and nephews have always been the primary recipients of this giving nature, but make no mistake the list of people benefiting from her selflessness was one of the longest in recent history.

Besides being a Mother, her time spent as a waitress, was the longest thing she had done. The amount of people she influenced both as customers and co-workers cannot be counted, as many of her long life relationships were tied to this occupation. The last 31 years at Peaches Café was long and enriching relationship and she worked up to the weekend she passed. Her presence there will be sorely missed.

As the Matriarch of her immediate family (Son, Daughter in Law and Granddaughter), words cannot describe how she will missed. Her dedication to her family was first and foremost and this was a life-long endeavor. Her passing is something that will not be truly felt for the months and years to come. The only way that this event can be rationalized is the God was running painfully low on great people in Heaven, so he thought she was the right addition. She is leaving a tremendous void that can never be filled.

Nancy is survived by her son Warren "Chip" Winslow, III and daughter in law Janine; her beloved granddaughter Victoria Winslow, her siblings Diana Seminer (Scott), Candy Reinemann (Ronald), Phyllis Foster (James) and William West (Christine); and her nieces and nephews Michael Seminer, Jonathan Seminer, Melissa Manus, Amy Becker, Chad Reinemann, Katherine Reinemann, Justin Gray, Andrew Houck, Heather Kisby, Danielle West, Kristina West, Fabio Ritmo and Alex Ritmo.
