ROTTERDAM – Neal Trahan, 45, of Rotterdam, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2011. He was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and had been a Rotterdam resident for most of his life.
Neal was a 1984 graduate of Mohonasen High School and had served in the US Army. He played football for Rotterdam Pop Warner and Mohonasen High School. Neal was the former owner of Joshua's Ice Cream and more recently was a driver for McLane Trucking. He enjoyed flag football, the Rhode Island ocean, traveling and was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Neal will be remembered as a dedicated husband and father. His unique sense of humor will be missed by his dear family and friends. Neal is the beloved son of Larry and Jaci Trahan. He is beloved husband of Rachelle Mont Trahan. Neal is the devoted father of Joshua, Nathan and Ella Trahan. He is the cherished brother of Laurie (James) Brisbin, Deborah (Dan) Fish, Kathleen Trahan (Douglas Fiorillo), and Christine (Brian) Kosineski. Neal is the son in law of Richard and Lorraine Mont. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Friday morning at 10:00 at St. Gabriel's Church, Hamburg Street. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. At the request of the family and in keeping with Neal's wishes, memorial contributions in lieu of flowers are encouraged to the Trahan Children Memorial Fund, c/o 1st National Bank, 2695 Hamburg Street, Schenectady, NY 12303.
