Neil Andrew Olsen

October 16, 1961 — February 6, 2023

Albany- Neil Andrew Olsen, 61, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Monday, February 6, 2023. Born in Delmar, he was the son of the late Rolf Arthur and Marcelle Olsen. Neil is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patti Olsen and his children Neil Andrew Olsen Jr. "Andy" and Kayla Christine Olsen (Bryan).

Neil, who was first and foremost a family man, worked as an engineer for SUNY for 30 years. He was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Colonie for 29 years. Neil was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed things like mountain climbing, fishing, hunting,skiing and camping. He also loved a Thursday afternoon of golf with friends.

Neil is also survived by his sister Marcelle Kim Paonessa (Salvatore) and his brother Rolf Arthur Olsen Jr. (Brenda) as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Erin Nichols of Community Hospice, dear friends John and Sue Wilham, and loving family members Tucker Olsen, Caitlyn Dean, and Susan Chan.

A service and fellowship to celebrate Neil's life will be at First Lutheran Church 181 Western Ave Albany NY 12203
on March 4th @1pm. ALL ARE WELCOME

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Hospice, Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, or First Lutheran Church of Albany.
