PITTSFORD, NY-----Neil S. Patterson, 89, husband of the late Marjorie E. Patterson, his bride of 53 years, passed away Sunday November 5, 2023.
He was born and raised in Lockport, NY, son of the late Stanley and Thelma Patterson. He took pride in his service as a radio operator in the U.S. Army where he enjoyed being stationed in Germany and earned a Good Conduct medal. He married and settled in Pittsford, NY, to raise a family. He spent his entire career at Xerox as a metallurgist, responsible for numerous innovations and patents before retiring to the Greenville, SC area.
He recently resided at Kingsway Arms Nursing Center in Schenectady, NY where he received such quality, loving care. He was one of the staff's favorite. How could he not be? He was a good person and treated everyone with kindness. He always made everyone laugh with his wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. He loved wearing funny t-shirts, enjoying seeing everyone's reaction. He was a great listener and so easy to talk to.
He is survived by children Diana Horn, Cynthia Turoski (Richard), Wayne Patterson (Barbara) and Laura Cserep (Scott), grandchildren Marla, Olivia, Victoria, Alexandra, Richard, Jennifer, Jason, and Emmett, and 2 great grandchildren.
