ALBANY, NY – Nela Tubbs, died Thursday August 27, 2009 at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was born in Jersey Shore, PA but lived most of her life in Albany. She was the daughter of the late Maude (Cole) and Theodore Coseo. She was the wife of the late Vern Tubbs for 53 years until his death in December, 1999. Nela worked for Aetna Life and Casualty for 41 years, having served as the Human Resources Consultant. She retired in March, 1995. Nela is survived by the children she loved dearly: Laura (Pete) Teliska of Salt Point, NY, Tracie (Bruce) Kelly of Albany, David (Corine) Tubbs of Guilderland and Pamela (Michael) Clark of Charlton. She was predeceased by her son, Steven at age 7. Also surviving are her grandchildren: Lisa (Joseph) McGann of Hyde Park, Jaclyn and Kimberly Kelly of Albany, Kristy Edwards of Guilderland and Michael, Jeffrey and Courtney Clark of Charlton. She is the great-grandmother of Joseph and Gracie McGann. Nela was predeceased by her sisters, Helen DeFazio and Doris Potter. She leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
At Nela's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Her ashes will be buried near her husband in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
