Nelson Dunster, Jr.

SCHENECTADY- Nelson Dunster Jr., age 70, passed away surrounded by family on May 10, 2024.
He was a lifelong resident of Schenectady, the son of the late Nelson Sr. and Jane Dunster. He was also predeceased by his wife of 48 years Cynthia Dunster, his sister Paula Wilcox, nephew Eric Wilcox, and niece Jennifer Jacobs.
Nelson was a graduate of Linton High School and Hudson Valley Community College. He retired from General Electric as a Turbine Winder after 40 years of service.
He was a lifelong CHEVY car enthusiast, restoring a 1969 Nova and 1972 Chevelle. He was a proud member of the Tri-City Muscle Car Club. He was an avid gardener, a great cook, loving father and grandfather, an avid weekly golfer, and enjoyed his morning routine of coffee and crosswords.
Nelson is survived by his sons: Nelson (Angela) and Michael (Sherri); grandchildren: Jordan, William and Logan; siblings: David Sr. (Shelly) and Brenda (Ron) Beardsley; sister in law, Debbie Jacobs and feline companion Tigger. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, in laws, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours on Wednesday May 22, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY 12205.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nelson's memory may be made to the Glioblastoma Foundation, PO Box 62066, Durham, NC 27715.
