Nelson R. Johnson

Niskayuna - Nelson R. Johnson, 88, of Niskayuna passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Nelson was born in Lake Placid, New York to the late Jesse and Agnes Peck Johnson.

Nelson was raised and educated in Schenectady NY. In his early years, he worked for Bench Office Furniture repairing, refurnishing and assembling office furniture. After retiring from Bench he worked for Niskayuna Central School District as a Bus Attendant assisting with needs and safety of schoolchildren.

Nelson was devoted to his family, loved by his grandchildren and was best known as "Pop". He loved home remodeling, woodworking and furniture repair and refinishing. After retirement, Nelson enjoyed winters in Florida with his family and friends.

Nelson was predeceased by his wife, Mary Pasquariello Johnson whom he was married to for 65 years. Nelson will be forever missed and loved by his family, son Neil and wife Arlene, his daughter Sandra Paniccia (Joe Rizzo) and his six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Nelson is predeceased by his son-in-law, Joseph Paniccia, his siblings Charles, Alma, Ellen, Eunice, Alfred, Calla and his twin brother, Norman.

The family would like to thank the Hospice team and give thanks to all those who continued to keep Nelson in their thoughts and prayers.
