Nevets A. Hammonds

HAMMONDS, NEVETS A.
SCHENECTADY - Nevets Armanie-Marie Hammonds, 3, was born on July 12, 2009 to Lakia Rucker and Steven Hammonds, in Niskayuna. She was called home to be with The Lord on November 27, 2012.
Nevets, who was affectionally known as "Nevy" and "Buttons", was a special angel who touched everyone's heart. She love playing with her parents and cousins, playing in the park with her parents and watching Nick, Jr. Nevy attended the Schenectady YWCA Daycare and most recently, was a student at Clover Patch Preschool, in Glenville. Nevy was a Diva who demanded attention from the day she was born. She was known for throwing punches, rolling her eyes and sitting with her legs cocked open. She loved music and to be sung to. Her favorite song was "You Are My Sunshine."

In addition to her parents, Nevy leaves to cherish her memory, brothers, Avhere, Kevin, and Meh'ki Hammonds; aunts, Stephanie (Gordon) Mills, LaQuisha Rucker, LaKeisha Rucker, Christiana Samuria and Quinnisha Mills; uncles, Timothy Hammonds, Dakim Rucker, Willie Mills and She-ron Mills. Nevy's loss is also mourned by her maternal grandparents, Adore and Octavius Mills, Jerome (Sandra) Rucker, paternal grandparents, Katherine and Horace Hammonds and great-grand parents, Arsola and Elbert Crenshaw and Deryl (Robert) Stallon.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3 Morton Avenue, Albany. Calling hours will precede the service from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady.
