Colonie- Nicholas T. Audi, 50, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on January 31, 2017. Nick was born on July 5, 1966 in Albany, son of the late Thomas J. and Rosemary (Polito) Audi. After graduating from Christian Brothers Academy and Siena College, Nick started his career as an accountant with Empire Blue Cross and Blue Shield, but soon after left to follow his dream of opening his own business. For the past 28 years, he was the proprietor of Pizza Mare & Delicatessen and Pickles Deli, during that time he won multiple awards for the Capital Regions best Pizza and Wings, later representing his restaurant in New York City, earning bronze in the Pizza Olympics. Nick took great joy in providing a welcoming and loving atmosphere, whether during his famous fourth of July parties or simply a sunday dinner, his presence assured an abundance of food, love, and laughter. Above All Nick was a devoted husband and father whose love and kindness will be forever missed, but never forgotten.
Nick is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 25 years, Jennifer A. (Tucker) Audi; the pride and joy of his life, his sons: Nicholas T., Marco T., Joseph C., and Giovanni T. Audi; his siblings; Thomas Audi; Kimberly (Gary) DeSorbo and Pamela Audi and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday February 6 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 23 Crumitie Rd, Loudonville, NY 12211. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday February 7 at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Nick's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
