Nicholas J. Halko

Nicholas J. Halko, 57, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at his home with his loving family by his side. Nicholas was the devoted husband to Robin W. Halko to whom he was married 26 years. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Nicholas grew up in Watervliet, NY and studied at Siena College graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. With this, he became certified as a CPA and CFE, working for small firms and private businesses, before finding his career at OIG. Nicholas was dedicated to his work where he was highly respected by his colleagues.

Nicholas enjoyed spending time with his entire family and loved to make his children smile. He could be found watching classic tv and movies, working on projects around the home, or honing his grilling technique. He was a passionate lifetime member of the NRA, but also a passionate Sorry! competitor.

In addition to his wife, Nicholas is survived by his daughters, Amanda and Ashley Halko; sister, Evelyn (Jim) Maney; niece Christa Nicsevic and nephew John Ryan.

Nicholas is predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Theresia Halko, and sister Theresa (Wes) Ryan.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 4pm to 6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Road, Watervliet, New York 12189.
