MENANDS – Nicholas Knowles, 28, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2007 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC. He died of complications following a bone marrow transplant.
Nicholas was born on January 20, 1979 in Syracuse, NY and is the son of Shelly L. Knowles and Melvin E. Youker. He graduated from Colonie High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, Onondaga Community College in Syracuse and SUNY Albany.
Nicholas is survived by his mother, Shelly L. Knowles of Menands; his father, Melvin E. Youker of Syracuse; his sister, Sara Knowles Anostario; his aunts, Sherry and Susan Knowles, both of Winter Park, FL, Laurie Cole and Cheryl Youker both of Pennellville; his uncle, Darrell Youker of Fayetteville and several great aunts and great uncles.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. where a service of remembrance will follow at 7 p.m. Expression of sympathy may be sent to www.newcomerfamily.com and family and friends may visit Nicholas' memorial site at www.nicholas-knowles.memory-of.com
