ALBANY – Nick J. Coluccio Sr., 69, of Albany, passed away on Wednesday evening at Albany Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born in Reggio Calabria, Italy and is the cherished son of Jennie Alessi and the late Rocco Coluccio. Nick was the Superintendent of Buildings for the County of Albany before retiring in 2002. He proudly served the citizens of the City of Albany for many years as a Committeeman and as a trusted Alderman of the Common Council. Nick enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his treasured family.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Lillian Coluccio, He is the devoted father of Nick J. (Suzanne) Coluccio Jr. and the late Stacey Coluccio. He is the proud grandfather of Anthony J. Coluccio, his little Honey Bunny. Nick is the dear brother of Catherine (Danny) Marrello, Maria (late Nicholas) Mesiti, Dominick (Susan) Coluccio and Frank (Pamela) Coluccio. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
