Noel Charles Skidmore

Schenectady-Noel (Skid) Charles Skidmore, 74, of Schenectady, passed away on 20 Aug 2018 at Albany Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm on Monday August 27th at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. Funeral services will be held August 28th, 2018 at 10 am at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. Military Burial will follow at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Born 24 April 1944 in Brooklyn, NY to John & Elizabeth (Betty) Skidmore, Noel moved upstate as a teen and graduated from Richmondville Central School. Noel met the former Margaret Bridges (Marie) while serving in the United States Army. They married on 23 April 1966 in Bridgeport, PA. "Skid" was awarded a Bronze Star for his heroism in Viet Nam. Noel continued his service to others as a volunteer firefighter and Little League coach. He retired from a successful career in information technology.
Noel is survived by his loving wife Marie; his children Elizabeth (Beth Ann) (Joseph Cappello), Paula (David Potter), Cheryl (Michael Riccio), John Skidmore; sisters Frances and Elizabeth, sisters-in-law Eunice, Debbie, Karen; brothers-in-law Terry, Tommy; grandchildren Michael, Samantha, Lauren, Mariah, Christian, Courtney, Tia, Katherine, Nicole, and Ainsley; and great grandchildren, Haylee, Bailey, and Michael.
