COLONIE – Norma C. (Coughlin) Green, 85, a Colonie resident for many years, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2010 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Born in Plainfield, NH, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Howard) Coughlin. She worked as a receptionist for Project STRIVE for many years before retiring in 1986. She was a communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. She enjoyed dancing, singing, bowling and playing bingo, but most especially spending time with family.
Norma is the mother of Alberta N. Morrison (James) of Colonie, Albert Green Jr. (Janice) of Clifton Park, Raymond Green (Dorothy) of Hamilton, NJ, Thomas Green (Chris) of Atlanta, GA, John Green (Joanne) of Colonie, Mary McDade of Colonie, Martha Santore (Thomas) of Waterford and Sheryl Morrison (Thomas) of Colonie; sister of Beverly Barnes of Florida and Joan Shippey of Brattleboro, VT. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren, one great great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband in 1985, Albert T. Green, Sr.; and her siblings, Lloyd, John, Grace and Dot.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Clare's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Niskayuna. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
