Norma "Cricket"Mildred Chase

ALBANY - Norma "Cricket" Mildred Chase, 91, passed away on Monday, August 20, 2012 surrounded by her loving family at Albany Memorial Hospital under hospice care.
Norma was born on April 23, 1921 in Massena, NY and was the daughter of the late Charles and Mildred (Taylor) Chase. She received her Master's degree from St. Lawrence University. She was an English teacher for Onteora Central Schools in Boiceville, NY and then Rondout Valley Central Schools in Cottekill, NY for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Potsdam. She enjoyed reading her Bible and gardening.
Norma is survived by her loving sister, Velma C. Jessop; her loving nephews and nieces, David G. Paradis (Mary Beth), Sandra J. Windham (Robert), John A. Jessop (Janet) and many other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mabel A. "Mac" Paradis and Wilma Chase; her brother, Charles A. Chase; her brothers-in-law, Homer "Hap" Paradis and John Jessop; and nephews, Douglas Paradis and Clark Jessop.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and dedicated staff at Community Hospice of Albany and Community Hospice of Rensselaer for their kind and compassionate care. Especially the dedicated nurses and staff at Albany Memorial, 6th floor Hospice wing. Also the staff and management of Emeritus at Colonie Manor.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 63 May Road, Potsdam, NY. Interment will follow at Madrid Cemetery in Madrid, NY.
