Norma Iris Montes

Norma Montes, known for her loving and caring nature, passed peacefully on January 22, 2025, in Albany, at the age of 70. Born on April 25, 1954, in Arroyo, Puerto Rico, Norma’s journey was marked by warmth, kindness, and a talent for bringing people together, especially around delicious meals that lingered in the hearts and minds of all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.

A dedicated cosmetologist, Norma turned her passion into a rewarding career, where she touched countless lives with her skillful hands and nurturing spirit. Yet, it was in her home that she truly shone, known widely for her phenomenal cooking. Family and friends fondly recall the mouthwatering taste of her signature dishes—rice and beans, pastelon, and chicken soup. 

Norma had an eye for beauty and style; she was always dressed impeccably. Her zest for life extended to her love of dancing, a joyful expression of her vibrant personality.

She is survived by her devoted son, Carlos, and her cherished grandchildren, Christian, Mariana, and Sabian. Norma is also remembered by her siblings: Sonia, Beatriz, Fernando, Carli, Wilfredo, Gabriel, and Luis, who have shared countless moments of joy, laughter, and support throughout her life.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by several brothers and sisters. 

The memory of Norma Montes will forever remain alive in the hearts of those who were lucky to know her. 

Visitation will be held on January 27, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:30 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals in Watervliet, NY.
