ALBANY- Norman L. Kellerman Sr., 80, of Albany, passed away on Tuesday April 7, 2009 at the VA Medical Center after a brief illness.
He was born in Johnson City, NY and was the son of the late John and Ida Barnes Kellerman. Norm served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked in retail sales for over forty years, retiring in 2004. Norm was a life member of the North Bethlehem Fire Department where he was a three time Past Chief, Department Commissioner and held several offices with the Albany County Fire Police. Norm was a member of the American Legion Post 1040. He enjoyed bowling, camping, and fishing.
He is the beloved husband of 58 years to Catherine Rosenberger Kellerman. He is the devoted father of Kathleen (Richard) Judeikis, Robin (Peter) Barnick, Norman (Valerie) Kellerman Jr. and David (Patti) Kellerman. Norm is the brother of John Kellerman, Nancy Castleberry and the late Richard Kellerman and Phyllis Clark. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 11:00 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Saratoga VA National Cemetery.
