Colonie- Normande C. DiNovo, 81, of Colonie, passed away on Monday January 29, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born in Montreal, Canada and was the daughter of the late Thomas and Germaine Perreault Anselmi. Norm was predeceased in 1977 by her beloved husband Angelo M. DiNovo and her brother, Ronald Anselmi.
Mrs. DiNovo had worked in retail for many years. Most recently, she was associated with Sears at Colonie Center from where she retired. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her real joy in life was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren, and seldom missed one of their baseball games. Her grandchildren were truly the apple of her eye. Norm never forgot and cherished the love and companionship her late husband's family showed after his death. She loved to speak french with anyone she met who spoke the language and enjoyed returning to Montreal to visit.
She is the beloved mother of Thomas (Grace Iavarone) DiNovo and Andrew DiNovo; cherished grandmother of Thomas and Andrew DiNovo. She is the sister of Roland, Polo, Mona and Jacqueline Anselmi, Madeline Manucci and Jeannine Bourgault all of Montreal and Denise Gilboe, Evelyn Moore, Mary DiNovo, Gladys Hettie , Marie DiNovo. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday morning at 8:30 at NewComer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Clare's Church at 9:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospital Foundation, 315 S. Manning Blvd. Albany NY 12208 in memory of Normande C. DiNovo.
