ALBANY – Octavio "Chico" Flores, 80, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2011 at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital.
Octavio was born on March 1, 1931 in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico and was the son of the late Antonio and Bernarda (Pedrosa) Flores. He was an avid Yankees fan, an avid horseracing fan who loved Saratoga Racetrack in the summer, enjoyed bowling and softball, but most especially spending time with his family.
Octavio was the devoted husband of Helen (Pickert) Flores; the devoted father of Darlene (Harry) Shufelt, James (Patricia) Flores, Gustavo (Theresa) Flores, Dana (Lisa) Flores, Bernarda Elena "Bonnie" (Michael) Avery, and Charles Flores. He is also survived by 12 cherished grandchildren; four cherished great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
