COLONIE – Olga "Ollie" Ristau Amash, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late Edward S. and Mary C. Newton Ristau.
Olga was the loving wife of 65 years to Elias "Babe" Amash. She was the beloved mother of Arthur (Patricia) Amash of Colonie, Howard (Jan) Amash of Ballston Spa, Linda (John) Shagalski of Colonie, Barbara (Michael) Corbeil of Waterford and Paul Amash of Hilldale. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Gasiorowski and her brother, Arthur Newton.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the NY Oncology Hematology - Patroon Creek and the 6th floor staff at Memorial Hospital for their sincere care and comfort given to Olga.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, then to Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 498 Watervliet Shaker Road, Latham, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Road, Loudonville, New York 12211 in Olga's memory.
