COLONIE- Olga Y. Bowry, 89, passed away on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family.
Olga was born in Hartford, CT, on October 12, 1928 to the late Michael and Olga Yawgel. On May 15, 1954 Olga married the love of her life, Thomas Bowry. They were married for over 50 years before his passing in 2006. Together they raised one daughter, Karen Russell.
Olga is predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas, her brothers, Leo and John Yawgel, and her sister, Nadia Yawgel.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Trent) Russell, her two grandsons, Taylor, and Jake Russell, and her sister, Elizabeth (Thomas) Trace.
Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, on Saturday, March 10, 2018, from 10:00am-12:00pm with a service to immediately follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Olga's name to the Animal Protective Foundation, 53 Maple Ave, Schenectady, NY 12302.
The family would like to thank all those at Glendale Home, Erie Crossing for all of their love and compassion that they had shown to Olga, especially Ruthann and Marcia.
