ALBANY - Oliver "Twist" Douglas, Jr., Sunrise December 15, 1946 and Sunset January 25, 2015. God called Oliver to his final resting place on Sunday, January 25, 2015 after fighting a restless fight.
Oliver Douglas, Jr. was born to Effie Douglas and the late Oliver Douglas, Sr. He graduated from Schuyler High in 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968 and retired from NYS; while retired he worked for the Dept. of Recreation at Lincoln Park. Oliver was a talented man of many different trades. The most favorite things he enjoyed were spending quality time with his family, grandkids and friends. He loved his music and Cadillac's. He was a great man that will be truly missed; a smile, a hug and especially a kiss.
He was predeceased by his father, Oliver Douglas, Sr., a host of special aunts, uncles, a favorite cousin Carolyn Douglas and a brother, a very special friend James E. Edmunds "big Jim."
Oliver leaves behind to cherish his memories a loving mother, Effie Douglas; two daughters, Justique Douglas and Shachira Douglas-Comither; four grandchildren, A'Jonjinique, Sha'Zier A'Zaranique and A'Shamarinique. A special brother/friend, Murray Baird; two special cousins, Butch and Nate and a very special friend Barbara J. Smith.
Service Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A calling hour will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
