ALBANY -
Ona M. Pariseau, 77, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2023 at Albany Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Ona was born on April 5th, 1946 in Cohoes, NY, the daughter of the late Loretta Kozak (Vansleet) and Mike Shakow. Ona graduated from Cohoes High School in 1965, where she met her now late husband Bernard Pariseau, whom she was married to for 54 years. Ona was the proud mother of her two children; Tammy Gervais (Jeffery) and Thomas Pariseau (Shirley). Ona was a devoted and loving grandmother to her many grandchildren, including Ryan, Alexis, Jordan, Rachel, Lisa, Colleen and Gary. Ona is survived by her 3 siblings, Marline Fontaine(Charles), Christine Dooley (Michael) and Meron Shakow ( Connie).
Ona devoted her time and heart to her family, including raising her two children with her husband. Ona previously worked at Price Chopper and worked at Mystic Farms (Schaghticoke) with her family.
Ona spent her years dedicated to being the best mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She was an avid reader, had the biggest green thumb, loved antique shopping, would always be found with a newspaper in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.
Ona spent years traveling to Aruba with her family. Ona loved spending her time at the beach, watching the ocean waves and collecting shells.
Most of all Ona loved being with her family above all else. Ona was the heart of any room she walked into and always made sure that every hand was held and all arms were locked into a hug. Her smile lit up a room and her laugh was always contagious to everyone around her.
Ona will be deeply missed, the spot she left on everyone she connected to in her long years with us are irreplaceable.
Ona cherished her time, and led her life being being kind and loving to everyone she knew.
The family asks everyone to please join them in celebrating Ona's extraordinary life.
