Albany- Orlando Raponi, 91, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday morning, December 26, 2015.
Orlando was born on January 31, 1924, to the late Mario and Palmira Raponi, in Carpinato, Italy.
On February 15, 1947, he married Antonia Raponi in Italy. After starting their family, Orlando and Antonia relocated to Australia and later to the US. He worked for the Laborers Union Local 190 until retiring. Orlando loved making his wine and sharing it with his family and friends, gardening and his cats, especially Mikey. He was a hard worker, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be dearly missed by all those who had the privilege to know and love him.
Orlando is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Antonia; devoted children, Angelo (Regina) Raponi, Luciana (Clarence) Hubicki, Peter (Christina) Raponi; cherished grandchildren, Christopher (Sara) Raponi, Angela (Robert) Fink, Richard (Jessica) Hubicki, Timothy (Andi) Raponi, Theresa (Dustin) Lewis, Kristina (Christopher) Murray, Diana (Gregory) Smith, Peter J. Raponi, Rachel Raponi and 9 great-grandchildren; brother, Demetrio Raponi; brother-in-law, Guido (Maria) Cavone and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 2 to 5pm at New Comer Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Orlando's life will be held on January 2, 2016 at 11:00am at Christ the King Church. Entombment to follow at Memory Gardens.
