Goodrich, Orville
Schenectady – Orville Harrison Goodrich, 90, passed away Thursday September 2, 2010 at Glendale Nursing Home.
Orville was born in Cadyville, NY a son of the late Ethel and Harrison Goodrich. He moved to the Schenectady area as a young man and has been a resident since. Orville proudly served in the US Army during WW II in a Bomb Squadron. After returning from the war, he worked for a short time at General Electric Company. Orville drove charter buses for many years for Welcome Bus Line and then at CDTA. Orville worked for CDTA for most of his life, retiring as a Supervisor. In his retirement he enjoyed bowling at Sportsman's Bowl and golfing at Schenectady Muni where he achieved two whole in ones.
Orville is survived by his loving wife of more than sixty years Blanche Lorraine Goodrich, daughter Jayne (William) Smith, grandchildren: Gregory Smith and Kevin (Jori) Smith, great-grandchildren: Madelynn and Tanner, sister Martha Gebo and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:00am Saturday September 11, at St. Paul the Apostle Church, 2777 Albany St., Schenectady. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
