Osborne C. Haynes Sr.

ALBANY-Osborne C. Haynes, Sr. died peacefully on Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, where he was a resident in "Heroes Way".

Born on July 28, 1947 in Mobile, AL, Osborne later relocated with his family to Albany, NY in 1949. He was predeceased by his wife, Jessica M. Young-Haynes, both parents, William E. Haynes, Sr. and Dessie R. Johnson-Haynes, two brothers, Robert J., and William E., Jr., and one sister, Mary F. Harris. Osborne is survived by one sister, Helen L. Townsend, one brother, Samuel Jones, four children, Tammy, Osborne, Jr., Demond, and Sheonda Ward. He also leaves to mourn a beloved niece, Gay Townsend-Jones, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A going home celebration will be held on Tuesday, December 20th at 12pm at the New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. Calling hours are 10am-12pm, and Interment at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Repass immediately following at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), 370 Central Avenue, Albany, NY.
