COLONIE – Oscar W. Turner, 76, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 at the Albany Memorial Hospital.
Oscar was born on January 23, 1932 in Emporia, VA and was the son of the late Jacob and Mary Turner. He worked as a mason for the Powell and Minnock Brickyard in Coeymans for over 45 years before retiring in 1997. He was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Ella D. (Harris) Turner and his beloved daughter, Linda A. Turner. He is also survived by two sisters, four brothers and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers.
Calling hours will be held at the Union Missionary Baptist Church, 3 Morton Ave., Albany on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services and burial will take place on Friday in Emporia, VA.
