P. Howard Townsend

RENSSELAER- P. Howard Townsend, 91, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 12, 2008 at Albany Medical Center. He was born in Dillon, S.C. and was the son of the late Clarence and Emma Ford Townsend.
He was a member of Israel AME Church. He was a 33 Degree Mason, Past Master of Mt. Moriah Lodge, Past Potentate of Al Tabari Temple #121 and Commander in Chief of Utica Consistory #45. He was Past president of NAACP of Albany.
He is the beloved father of Vereda and Philip Townsend. He is the brother of Lincoln (Carolyn), James and Francis Townsend. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday evening at 7:00 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
