Pamela Dantzler
November 2, 1950 — April 21, 2020
In the early morning hours of April 21, 2020, a beloved resident of Schenectady NY, peacefully passed away in her home. Pamela Dantzler, birth name Pantherleen Edwards, born November 02, 1950 to Loveless Kidd and Wilma Hunt, in Mobile AL, fought a fierce battle with cancer and has sadly succumb to her illness.
During Pam's final days, her friends and family traveled many distances to say their goodbyes.
Fighting alongside her was her longtime companion, and life partner, Nelson Padilla. Nelson stood by her, and displayed extreme love and loyalty until the very end.
The amount of courage and strength Pam exhibited throughout her struggle was incredibly remarkable. Over the years, Pam earned many titles. She was a mother, wife, confidant, a best friend, and her favorite title was "Grandma"
In 1970 Pam married Gilbert Dantzler and took his last name. During their twelve years of marriage they were blessed with 3 children. Kim, Michele and Sean Dantzler, all of which loved her dearly. Her family grew to be the center of her joy, she was proud of her children.
To her, age was simply just a number. Pam was full of life, and refused to let anyone slow her down.
Pam helped to care for her 10 grandchildren, who in the end, took care of her.
Pamela leaves behind a Brother Mervin Kidd, Sister Glenda Edwards, 10 grandchildren Uquasia Dantzler, Shemacia Dantzler, Lanaija Brown, Zakarrah Mattis, Samarrah Mattis, Nafisa Elamin, Fatima (Stormie) Elamin, Jaylen Dantzler, Kevin/Matthew Dantzler – Lowndes and 4 Great Grandchildren and Nephews Delacey Hunt, Jermyl Hunt, first son Andre Edwards, Tory Edwards, Mervin Hunt, James Hunt, nieces Kia Hunt and Kelly Hunt.
Her family was her heart and she was ours.
We love you. We miss you and will continue to honor you.
You will never be forgotten.
