Pamela T. Alexander was born on October 8, 1960 in Washington, DC to her parents, the late June Rose Nickens & Theodore Jesse Nickens, Jr. When she was a child, she loved school, hula hoops, and riding her bike. Pamela was a sweet and gentle soul. She had a good heart and was kind. Pamela graduated from Spingarn High School in Washington, DC. In 1983, she was united in marriage to Michael Alexander. Michael and Pamela relocated to upstate NY. From this union, they were blessed with 3 beautiful children, Ranita, Jamil and Michael. Pamela loved her family. She always talked about her children and grandchildren with love and kindness. She enjoyed listening to music, dancing, attending church functions with her daughter, and spending time with her grandchildren. Pamela's grandchildren affectionately called her Nana.
Pamela suffered a long illness. After a series of complications, she completed this life on May 24, 2016. Her spirit journeys forward. She is loved and will be missed.
She is preceded in death by her brother Daryl G. Nickens and her sister Gail M. Fought.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Michael Alexander; three children, Ranita Janiece Flanagan (Gregory), Solomon Jamil Alexander, and Michael Elijah Alexander; her siblings, Janis A. Benson-El (Howard) and Linda A. Lyles; her grandchildren, Tre Victoria, Giovanni Flanagan, Isabel Flanagan, and Lorenzo Flanagan; her sisters-in-laws, Veronica Starks, Avis Williamson, and Sally Travi; her brothers-in-laws, Fred Williamson (and Family), John Williamson (Alexis), Leroy Starks-Bey (Teresa); and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Friends and relatives are invited to call on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 10-11am at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. A service will follow at 11am. Interment will be at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
