GUILDERLAND – Pasquale S. Nischo, 75, passed away suddenly at his home on Friday, December 29, 2006. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Samuel and Rose Nischo. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a recipient of the Purple Heart, serving his country during the Korean War. Mr. Nischo retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. after forty years of service. He enjoyed traveling on bus tours with his late wife. Pasquale enjoyed football and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren participate in baseball, football and soccer. He was the beloved husband of the late Elaine Nischo. He is the devoted father of Christine (John) Barber, Eugene (Debbie) Nischo and Patricia (Joe) Hart, all of Guilderland. He is the cherished grandfather of John Barber, Jr., Nickolas Barber, Michael Barber, Vincent Nischo, Anthony Nischo, Elizabeth Hart and Krystle Hart. Also surviving is his sister, Dr. Marie Nischo of Buffalo, NY as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 10:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to Christ the King Church at 11:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The parish family of Christ the King will gather on Tuesday at 4:30 at the funeral home for a service of prayer and remembrance. All are welcome. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 260 Osborne Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211 in memory of Pasquale S. Nischo.
