Albany- Pasquale S. Lucarelli, Sr. passed away on May 23, 2016 with his family by his side. He was 72 years old. The son of the late Rochetto and Assunta (Garofoli) Lucarelli, Pasquale was born in Villalago, L'Aquila, Italy. He came to the United States with his brother John in 1959, joining his older brother Alberto who had been here since 1951. When Pasquale first came, he worked painting cars for four years. In 1963 he began his career as a bricklayer. First working as a union bricklayer for Local #2 until 1984 when he started his own business with his brother, John. He retired in 1998, but still helped with the family business until 2002. He was a proud member of the WAIBS for over 20 years.
He was married to Bambina Galante in July of 1972 in Italy. Together they raised their two sons, Pasquale and Andrea. Pasquale had many hobbies, including: making wine, gardening, fishing, horse racing, and bocce. He had the gift of gab and loved to have conversation with anyone. Pasquale loved to help anyone who was in need, he loved to fix anything. He was a very organized man and did things his way. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Pasquale is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Bambina; his sons: Pasquale, Jr. and his wife Elizabeth and Andrea and his wife Lori; his granddaughters: Sophia, Bella, and Olivia; his brother John Lucarelli and his wife Maria, their children, Daniele, his wife Danielle and their children Soleil, Gemma and Jolie; Anita, her husband Christopher and their children Nicholas and Julia; Stephen, his wife Marie and their children Giovanni and Natalie; John and his wife Kristen; his sisters: Maria DiPaolo and Marcella and her husband Salvatore Iafolla and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, Paquale was predeceased by his brother Alberto and sister-in-law Genevieve Lucarelli and his brother-in-law Lino DiPaolo.
Visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Friday, May 27 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am, on Saturday, May 28 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie.
