COLONIE-Patricia A. Watson passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Glendale Home after a three year courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Newark, NJ, the daughter of the late Robert J. and Katherine (Voll) Higgins. Patricia was an avid quilter and seamstress, who used her many talents as a member of the Home Bureau and the "Thursday Tearers" quilting group. She volunteered with the Little Sisters of the Poor. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. She left a legacy of her quilting to her granddaughters and lovingly made quilts for each family member to cherish. Patricia enjoyed the simplicity of life and time spent at the Jersey Shore, Amish country and various bus tours.
Patricia is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Robert C. Watson; her loving children Robert L. Watson (Susan), Eileen P. Mulligan and Patricia J. Olsen (Mark). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren Matthew and Laura Watson; Joseph Reid III (Heather), Patrick Mulligan; Sara, Rebecca, Andrew, and Benjamin Olsen. She is survived by her sister Kathleen Denton, her brother Robert Higgins and predeceased by brother Joseph Higgins. Patricia is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 PM on Monday, September 15, 2014 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Historic St. Mary's Church, Albany.
Interment will be at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, Double H Ranch or to a charity of one's choice in memory of Patricia.
