Patricia A. Wowk

Patricia "Hon" Wowk, of Schenectady, entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, May 21 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by her loving husband and family. Hon was born February 11, 1949, to the late Frank Kelly and Alice Peebles in Kingston, NY. Hon attended Mont Pleasant HS and received a nursing degree from Man Power, Albany, NY. Hon worked at Albany Medical Center as an LPN and then went to work for New York State, OGS, as a painter for twenty years, before retiring in 1997.

In addition to her parents, Hon was predeceased by her siblings: Charlotte M. Holmes, Raymond DeGroate, Clifford Jackson, and Rachael Jackson; and sons: Curtis Cowell Jr. and David Dukes Jr.

Hon is survived by her loving and devoted husband of seventeen years, Peter Wowk; daughters: Mary Elizabeth Dukes, Kasha Hudson, and Renee Minus; son: Linwood DeGroate, all of Schenectady; brother: Lawrence A. Harris of Phoenixville, PA.; sister: Alice Hilts of Atlanta, GA.; fourteen grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Service will be Saturday, May 26, at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, at 11:00 am. Calling hours: will be from 10 to 11 am on Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
