Patricia Vera "Ann" Candib, 88, passed away Wednesday December 24, 2008 at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family following complications of a stroke.
Ann was born in Cheshire, England a daughter to the late Dominick and Emily Byrne. In England she was a dancer and actress prior to her marriage. During WW II she met her husband, William, a U S citizen who was studying medicine in Scotland. They were married and moved to the U S after the war. After moving to the states and starting her family she taught ballet and drama classes at area schools until her retirement. She enjoyed reading, particularly history and anthropology but her real passion in life was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them above all else. Ann will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband William in 1966 after twenty three years of marriage.
She is survived by her children; Michele (Dimitrios) Tsamardinos of Slingerlands, NY and Julie (Peter) Fett of Sundbach, England, grandchildren; Jane and Lea Tsamardinos and Benjamin Fett, sister-in-law Mae Candib, dear adopted sister Zinovia Tsamardinos and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be 10:00am Tuesday at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155 south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be Monday 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Joanne Van Woert and her staff and caregivers this year: Chrissy, Lisa, Susan and Sharon. We will always love you and remember your kindness.
