Patricia Ann Debobes

February 21, 1955 — July 16, 2023

Patricia Ann DeBobes (née Loughlin), a resident of Amsterdam, NY and formerly of Stony Brook, NY, passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Born on February 21, 1955, Patricia was the daughter of the late John and Doris Loughlin (née Kelly) of Plainview, NY. Patricia was a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and later received her Associates Degree in Nursing at SUNY College of Technology at Farmingdale in 1976. She went on to earn her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Nursing from Stony Brook University and worked for many years as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, adjunct faculty member, and Director of Nursing. A compassionate caregiver, Patricia deeply valued connecting with and supporting the residents of the nursing facilities she managed.

Patricia had a sharp wit and enjoyed thrillers, especially books and movies by Stephen King. During a relaxing evening, you may have found her curled up on the couch watching a movie with a bowl of ice cream. She had a unique ability to see people and enjoyed giving loved ones gifts that seemed tailored just for them. She loved spending time with her family and spent many years cheering on her children at sports competitions and Boy Scout events throughout Long Island. From a young age, Patricia was a talented hobby artist and even designed the Celtic tattoo she wore. She enjoyed concerts, dancing and couldn't resist bringing home a cute kitten.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her brothers, John and Christopher, and her sister, Kathleen Gioia.

She is survived by her sons, Brendan (Gretchen) of Niskayuna, NY, Derek of Smithfield, Rhode Island, RI and Sean, of Providence, RI as well as her beloved grandson, Cole, of Niskayuna, NY. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend who will be missed beyond measure.

Friends and family are invited to call at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY on Friday, July 28 from 4PM-6PM. A private interment will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery at a later date.

The family wishes to thank the medical staff at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville, NY as well as the Fulton Center in Gloversville, NY and the amazing team at The Sentinel of Amsterdam for their care and compassion of Patricia.
