Albany-Patricia Fahlander , 85, is now reunited in heaven with her husband and son, passing away on Sunday, January15, 2023. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of Joseph and Bernice Wells. Pat was the loving wife of the late Francis "Mickey" Fahlander and the beloved mother to the late Michael Fahlander.She was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy, Connie, Lois, Dora, Shirley and Joan who were all originally from Albany.
In 1956, Pat married the love of her life, Mickey. They moved to Colonie with their growing family in 1961. They enjoyed spending time with family, taking long drives together, and especially going to Cape Cod. Pat and Mickey loved their furry friend Samson, who was a source of love and enjoyment. Pat had a career caring for people, first at MercyCare in Guilderland and then The Daughters of Sarah. As a housekeeper, she was able to take time to create special bonds with many of the residents. Pat was a volunteer at Bright Horizons at the Colonie Senior Center at Beltrone and received the Volunteer of the Year award for service. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and working on puzzles.
The true joy of her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Starr (John), Margaret Knickerbocker, (Daniel), and Debra Notar. Her grandchildren, Jonathan Knickerbocker, Bridget Osborn (Kyle), and Kayla Starr brought so much happiness to her life. She had a special place in her heart for her great grandchildren, Oliver Osborn, Arthur Osborn, and Amelia Osborn. She cherished her nieces and nephews and their families.
Pat was a communicant of Christ our Light Church in Loudonville where she expressed her faith in the company of her dear friends Betty, Helene, and Elizabeth.
In addition, Pat loved her grand puppies and grand kitties, Buddy, Tucker, Gizmo, Moose, Girl Kitty, Jack, James and Harrison who always gave enthusiastic greetings when she arrived.
