Patricia Ann French

June 15, 1941 — January 15, 2022

PATRICIA ANN (BOYER) FRENCH, was born June 15, 1941 in Norwich, NY, the first child of the late Mahlon and Dorothy Boyer (West).

Patty, as she was affectionately called by family and friends, was educated in the Albany City School District. After high school Patty married Kenneth M. French and to that union four children were born: her only son, Guy A French, three daughters, Carmen R. French, Judy L. French and Kelly M. Graves. Her children were the shining lights of her life.

After being a stay-at-home Mom for several years, Patty had to enter the workforce after becoming a single mom. She began by taking various job training courses to gain the necessary skills that would assist her in obtaining a job that would help make life better for her and her children.

She was employed by the New York State Department of Fire and Prevention for 20 years, retiring in 2010.

In 2012 she suffered a stroke and relocated to Virginia Beach, VA with her daughter Judy. This move was better for her health because of the warmer climate. While in Virginia, Patty continued to enjoy visits from her children and grandchildren.

Everyone who knew Patty, knew how much she enjoyed her family and friends. She was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Patty was preceded in death by, her brothers, Richard M. "Butchie" Boyer, William "Skipper" Pulliam, and Stephen West and her sisters, Dorothy Jenkins, Sharon Bates and Marie Bradley.

In the quiet morning of January 15, 2022, God sent his Heavenly Angels to bring Patricia home to be with Him. She leaves to treasure her memory her beloved children, Guy A. French (Schenectady, NY), Carmen R. French (Delmar, NY), Judy L. French (Virginia Beach, VA) and Kelly M. Graves (Watervliet, NY); seven grandchildren, Jashon Clark (Virginia Beach, VA), Akira White (Richard) (Albany, NY), Lashad Smith (Watervliet, NY), Jihad Burton (Albany, NY), Isaiah Burton (Delmar, NY,) Myron Graves (Renee) (Colonie, NY), Myrie Graves (Albany, NY); eight great-grandchildren, Arie and Amya Clark, Lashad C. Smith, Jeremiah E King, Sha-Alldine iben J. Cancer, Alexander X. Graves, Aiden X. Graves, and Kaiden M. Burton; eight brothers, Daniel Pulliam, Allen West Jr, Gary West, Clay West, David West, Marlon Boyer, Mark Boyer, and Effrom Boyer; four sisters, Brenda Boyer, Sue Boyer, Debbie Boyer and Andrea Boyer; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.
