Patricia A. Hanley

February 23, 1934 — March 22, 2024

Patricia "Princess Patty" Hanley laid down her crown on March 21st, in the comfort of her granddaughter's home, surrounded by loved ones. She went peacefully, with dignity, which is exactly what she would have wanted.

Patricia was born February 24, 1934 to the late Mary and Randall Wagoner of Albany, NY. She grew up with her family in a lovely building across from Washington Park. In her late teen years she met John "Jack" Hanley, and they fell in love. They later married and had three lovely boys, John, Jimmy and Tommy who meant so much to Patricia and Jack. For many years Patricia was a "homemaker". Though she never got the cooking part down, that women could bleach a whole house and clean like no other! Later on she began teaching fitness classes at the European Health Spa on Wolf Rd. She loved that job! Patricia lived a full life… she enjoyed traveling and golfing all over with her husband once he retired. She loved going on trips with her friends Barbara and Ruth, (both of whom she loved deeply), dining out, dancing and tending to her beautiful gardens!

Patricia suffered from dementia later on in life… a terrible, cruel disease. She never ever let dementia take away her sassy ways, sharp comebacks and ability to talk smack with the best of them. She would still go out, have her glass of wine and lord knows she still would sit at that vanity for a good hour teasing her hair as high as the heavens! Always asking where Jack was, now you know where he was Gram. Waiting on you in heaven.

I will be forever grateful for the time I spent with you; we will all cherish the memories we had; and I thank God you went the way you did.

She was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, John F. Hanley, her sister, Shirley Cummings, her son, Thomas P. Hanley, and her grandson, James Bartley Hanley.

Her memory lives on through her sons, John J. Hanley of Virginia and James B. Hanley (Teresa) of Niskayuna; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hanley of Alabama; grandchildren, John R. Hanley(Lisa), Ryan Hanley(Chiaki), Devon Hanley Cole(Matt),Michael Hanley(Jordan),Kate Hanley(Kevin), and Christopher Hanley(Kristin), and several great grandchildren.

Lastly, but far from least, we would like to thank Pat's dear friend, Tracey, for her years of love and care, and for all the amazing memories she gave to Pat. Also, a special thank you to Suenita, for the tireless help and love she showed Pat in the last years of her life. She loved you both tremendously.
